Quake Wars
by Jami Couch, 26 Sep 2007 06:53 pm
For those of you with a windows partition, head over to fileplanet and download the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars demo. I've been playing it in my free time for the past couple weeks and I have to admit...its awesome. Fortunately, a linux release version should ship some time after the windows, so I'll hold off on buying it retail until that happens.

Also, check out the Economics forum in the Symposium if you're interested in that sort of thing.

Ubuntu rocks!
by Jami Couch, 27 Jul 2007 12:22 am
Okay, so for the past couple of years I've off and on had windows/linux dual boots set up. As far as I know, Ubuntu Linux is probably the easiest to use distro out there, and it keeps getting better. I remember the first couple times I tried it having to spend hours figuring out how to set up this or that...but its all good now...Ubuntu Feisty, the latest version, came almost perfect right off the cd. I had to download a few programs for multimedia and such, but thats easy it doesnt take long at all. So if you have some spare time and some extra hard drive space, its definitely worth a look: if nothing else just get the liveCD to see it!

Progress on UberBlocks
by Jami Couch, 15 Jul 2007 01:11 am
Okay, well after yet another day of trials and tribulations, I have made significant progress on UberBlocks, to the point that I may be ahead of the scheduled friday release. Unfortunately, there is a slowdown ahead as I have a history test this week and at some point I'm going to have to study!

Today brought a significant change in the look and feel of UberBlocks, switching away from the purple and gold design to a more PixelNetworks-esque color scheme. Check it out on the projects page. As far as things left to do, the high score system is still not fully functional, and I may change up the menus a little bit. Once those things are done, and any other things that I decide to do, it'll be ready for release!

The news system works!
by Jami Couch, 13 Jul 2007 08:36 pm
Well, after only a minimal amount of work, I managed to get the news system working. I'm sure Steven will be along soon to clean up the formatting and make it look pretty.
